The world of warning sirens has changed, with the introduction of the TEMPESTTM Series of battery operated sirens. Since 1942 when we began manufacturing civil defense sirens for the Department of the Army the industry had experienced several problems with the technology used to provide timely warnings.

First, was the reliability of the mechanical systems used to rotate the larger sirens. Belts and chains, would fail or require a great deal of maintenance. Separate blowers and mechanical components also became costly to repair and maintain.

Second, was the inability of the units to operate after AC power had failed. With the introduction of the Performance Plus DC sirens in 1988, ASC provided a system which would revert to battery operations during severe weather or other types of power outages allowing emergency managers to provide warning notification.

The TEMPEST™ line has taken the reliability factor to the next level.
